This week I am really loving on the North Bay although we go all over the Bay Area gladly, the North is our home base. Here is a wedding we did last summer that I am still in love with. Jessilyn and Mike were the most wonderful subjects to work with. They were full of light and life and their friends were hilarious. Mike also had the best groom reaction. Here are some of my favorite images from their DIY West Marin Wedding. Congratulations to this fantastic duo.
I've know this beautiful woman, friend and mother since I was 14 years old. I was thrilled to do this sunset portrait with her beautiful children and her mother. There is so much love in this family. Add the stunning backdrop and it's a recipe for lots of cuteness.
Michelle and Jan had a beautiful and relaxed wedding last fall. The guests enjoyed a lot of delightful food from Sage Catering while enjoying live music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The bride and groom were so smitten with one another. I enjoyed the deeply satisfied and happy smiles that they gave to one another throughout the night. Michelle is a thoughtful artist who just finished her graduate degree in London. I hope to see her art in person someday.
The Falkirk Cultural Center is always a favorite venue for Bryan and I. We love their beautiful grounds and all of the film noir-like nooks and crannies that the house has to offer. The staff is always helpful in creating a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere. Congratulations Michelle and Jan! May you have many happy years to come!
For family portraits we range all over the Bay Area. From Golden Gate Park, to old growth Redwood forests in Sonoma and the South Bay and everywhere else in between we really are lucky to live in such a fantastic place. It is always a treat for me to work in our home county of Marin. This wonderful family is a very active one. They bike, surf, ski, ice skate and hike. I really admire their energy and love of all things outside. We agreed that it made sense to meet at one of their favored trail heads for the session. It was a chilly morning when we met up but that just gave me the opportunity to get some very sweet photos of the daughter snuggling in her mom's sweater.
One of the most exciting things about our job is being able to watch families grow up. We met this family back in 2009 for their older son's Bar Mitzvah. We fell in love with their sweet regard for one another and their dedication to everything that they do as they move through life. Since then we have seen them for anniversaries, portraits and on occasional visits to the Exploratorium where the mother, Laura, works. We have really grown to love them and count them as friends. This year was their younger son's Bar Mitzvah. He read and sang so beautifully during the ceremony he really has a gift. The party at the Exploratorium was full of fun as always. The guests wove in and out of the exhibits all evening with smiles on their faces. Here are some of our favorites.
